Introducing Our New Geotechnical Sales Manager
We’re excited to announce the appointment of David Bannon as the new Sales Manager at Leca UK!
David brings with him a wealth of experience in the construction and geotechnical sectors, with a strong background in providing innovative solutions for complex ground engineering challenges. His expertise will play a key role as we continue to grow our presence in the geotechnical market, supporting engineers, architects, and contractors with sustainable and efficient lightweight fill solutions.
We look forward to the expertise and leadership David will bring to the team — helping to drive innovation and technical excellence across our geotechnical projects.
We had a chance to sit with David and ask him a few questions about himself and the new role:
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your background?
I am originally from Ireland but have been living and working in the UK construction industry for over 20 years in a variety of sales & business development roles for many well-known building products companies. I have also spent time working in Spain and the UAE in the same industry. I have an MSc in Mineral Resources and BSc in Geology from Cardiff University and I hope to put this to good use in my new role at Leca!
What attracted you to join Leca UK (or take on your new role within Leca)?
I have always been an admirer of Saint-Gobain and was fortunate to have previously work for Decoustics (part of Certainteed) as European Sales Manager and Weber UK as a Strategic Business Development Manager, so when I was contacted by HR about this role, I jumped at the opportunity to work for Leca!
What will your focus areas be in your new role?
The key to future success and a strong pipeline of work on infrastructure projects is early engagement with the specifiers – consultant engineers & architects. My main objective is to engage at the initial stages of project development and to create further awareness about the solutions we can offer through CPD presentations, trade events, exhibitions, and conferences.
What are you most excited about in this new position?
Getting to know my new UK & International colleagues, meeting with our customers and specifiers. Attending the numerous events we have planned this year!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I like to keep fit and regular participate in triathlon events. I also coach my son’s Under 10 football team which is always fun!
Welcome aboard, David!
