NEW PHOTOVOLTAIC FACILITY OPENING
As part of our global sustainability commitments, in our production plant in Avelar, Portugal, we are preparing to open a new photovoltaic facility next month, which will self-sufficiently produce sustainable electricity for its manufacturing facility.
The excess energy from the factory will be redistributed back to the local region. The significant objectives of this project will include the reduction of the carbon dioxide emissions of the LECA LWA manufacturing facility at around 1,105 tons.
An objective which aligns to the commitment of our parent company Saint-Gobain, which has committed to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% by 2025 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
