New Road Development in Blackpool
Set for Completion in 2026!
A new road project is underway to connect Amy Johnson Way and Common Edge Road in Blackpool, improving connectivity and supporting economic growth. Due to soft ground conditions near the coast, over 5,000m³ of Leca® Lightweight Aggregate (LWA) is being used to ensure stability.
Project Scope & Objectives
Led by George Cox & Sons LTD, the project will facilitate new business units and enhance infrastructure. Key developments include:
- New road construction across former Common Edge playing fields.
- Widening Common Edge Road for increased traffic capacity.
- Junction modifications at School Road and Common Edge Road.
- New access routes, including Oakwood Close connection.
