Supporting Landmark Regeneration at Greenwich Peninsula

Supporting Landmark Regeneration at Greenwich Peninsula

We’re pleased to see construction underway on Meridian Quays, a major new phase of development at Peninsula Quays, directly opposite the Millennium Dome.

Part of the wider Greenwich Peninsula regeneration — the largest single redevelopment London has seen in a generation — Meridian Quays is designed to make the most of its west-facing waterfront location, with uninterrupted views across to Canary Wharf.

To support construction on this highly constrained site, over 8,500 m³ of Leca® Lightweight Aggregate (LWA) has been specified.

Why was Leca® LWA specified?

  • Leca® LWA (10–20 mm) was selected to provide a lightweight yet robust groundworks solution
  • Minimises additional loading on Transport for London assets, a critical design constraint
  • Creates stable foundation layers to support future phases of construction

This project will be delivered in key stages, with the current works representing the first phase of a long-term transformation.
