Works have begun for the Spalding Western Relief Road

Spalding Western Relief Road
Works have begun for the Spalding Western Relief Road, a new ambitious highway development that will improve journey times for the local community and increase connectivity by improving links around Spalding. Over 26,000m3 of Leca® 10-20mm Lightweight Aggregate (LWA) has been specified and used in conjunction with Tensar, a division of CMC to provide bridge abutment support for a new reinforced-soil embankment. We are proud to be apart of this project - stay tuned for further progress reports.
October 2023 Update
The relief road will link the A1175 and A16 to the south and east of Spalding, to the B1356 to the north, via the B1172 Spalding Common.
26,000m3 of Leca LWA has been stockpiled next to the site - ready for installation.
The metal structure is ready to be lifted
Leca LWA has been used in conjunction with Tensar Block and Geogrid.
